ABOUT THE ERHHG 2025

The University of Duhok (UOD) is honoured to host another significant event in its series of international conferences that address critical global issues with profound local impact. This year, UOD, in partnership with the Lalish Cultural and Social Center, brings together leading scholars and cultural advocates for The Ezidis: Religion, Heritage, History, and Geography (ERHHG-2025). This landmark conference provides a dedicated platform to explore the Ezidi community's rich religious, historical, and cultural identity while addressing the socio-political challenges they continue to face.

As the first academic conference in Kurdistan exclusively focused on Ezidi heritage, ERHHG-2025 represents a historic milestone in Kurdish academic discourse, fostering new understandings and collaborations. Together with the Lalish Center’s commitment to preserving and promoting Ezidi culture, this event invites participants to engage in meaningful dialogue that celebrates and safeguards the unique legacy of the Ezidi people. The International Conference on "The Ezidis: Religion, Heritage, History, and Geography (ERHHG-2025)" will be held in Duhok, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, on April 29-30, 2025. The University of Duhok (UOD) warmly invites professors, researchers, and academics from around the world to gather for this pioneering event. For the first time, ERHHG-2025 will provide an academic platform to explore the Ezidis from cross-border perspectives, offering attendees a unique chance to share and deepen their scholarly research on this vital topic. The ERHHG 2025 will take place at The University of Duhok (UOD), in the City of Duhok, Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). The city of Duhok is located in the heart of mountainous area of Kurdistan in valleys between the Zawa and Kélíya Sheda Mountains.  The city offer beautiful nature resorts of Zawa Park, Duhok Dam and more as well as historical sites in a stone cast away from the city,

The ERHHG 2025 project is intended to provide extensive academic and social interaction. The goal of the conference is for professionals to develop scientific contacts in order to cooperate on common challenges. The University of Duhok (UOD) prioritises excellent practises in international research and academic engagement.

A keynote speaker's responsibility is to actually set the "keynote" for this gathering. They are in charge of defining the general tone and cadence of the gathering, which will reverberate throughout the event. They will put into context the gathering and provide insightful expert opinion.

All participants (either attending the conference personally or virtually) have to register via the Online Registration Form. Register in time to get access to all conference sessions, the exhibition and demonstration area and to the welcoming and closing ceremonies.
